Tough on the outside, Tender at heart, The police and firefighters Are there from the start.

Their lives on the line So ours my be spared, We don't always see them, Just know they are there.

Thru the smoke, ash and cinders Out of the dark they return, For their lives and their safety They show no concern.

They are our neighbors , our brothers Each one filled with pride, In a crisis they rally Each taken in stride.

Thank you each and all These words seem inapt. You are the best of the best, Of that there is no doubt!
