We respond to calls every day, we know the chances of it being
someone we know, or even that it may be a child. We still respond, that is our
job. Yet we feel this pain inside, when life is lost. Knowing that we did all
that we could, yet wondering, what did we miss. The calls are sometimes large,
and several people are involved. We get together to talk about what we have seen
and what we thought. We feel better but still not whole. That takes days and
sometimes weeks. Then we get a call, someone is in trouble. We do what we are
trained to do, the life is saved. Today we understand why we are here, and what
our purpose is. We can’t save everyone, but we do make a difference by Trying.
