TCFP Certified Firefighter/EMS Attendant
Full-Time
Harris County Emergency Services District No. 46 (HCESD No. 46) is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill 7 newly created positions of TCFP Certified Firefighter/EMS Attendant . This is a full time, FLSA- 207k, hourly position with a 14 day work period. This position is assigned to the Fire Suppression division and is required to be credentialed to the AFD EMS attendant level. This position will ride a minimum of 48 hours per quarter on the Medic Unit.
The Community HCESD No. 46 (Atascocita) is located 25 miles northeast of Downtown Houston and is bordered by the San Jacinto River, to the North; Lake Houston, to the East; The City of Humble, to the West and unincorporated Harris County, to the South. The district is a typical bedroom community of 86,000 residents. Close to shopping and entertainment, it is far enough from Houston to feel like a small town, but close enough to provide easy access to all the city has to offer.
Schedule 48/96 Rotation (48 hours on, 96 hours off)
Compensation Package $53,597 - $54,147 per year(dependent on shift), paid on an hourly rate of $17.73/hr. Once you are driver qualified on the pumpers, an additional $0.25/hour will be awarded, increasing the range to $54,353 - $54,910.

Monthly department paid HSA/HRA contribution
Life insurance, 100% paid premium for employee (1x annual income + $50,000)
TCDRS retirement, 6% employee contribution, 2:1 employer match

Paid Time Off (PTO), accumulated per pay cycle, total of 156 hrs./yr. for 0-4 yrs.
Paid Sick Time, 144 hours a year

Essential Job Functions:The Firefighter will work with the department officers in regards to the following functions:
Fire Suppression
Emergency Medical Response credentialed as an EMS Attendant
Rescue Response
Hazardous Materials Response
Station Duties
Apparatus Checks
Equipment Inspections
Occupancy Preplans
Public Relations
Fire Prevention/Community Risk Reduction
EMS/Fire Training
Must maintain proficiency and remain current with ever changing fire ground strategies and tactics
Must maintain proficiency and remain current with ever changing EMS treatments and standard of care Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications
Must be 18 yrs. of age at the time of job offer
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
DSHS EMT or higher
TCFP Firefighter basic or higher
NIMS 100, 200,700 and 800
Valid Texas Driver’s License (Class B Required within 1 year of hire)
Able to pass an OSHA 29CFR1910.134 Respiratory Protection Fit Test
Able to pass a pre-employment background check Other Skills/Abilities
Customer service driven attitude
Effective communication skills
Must possess basic math comprehension
Should possess good computer skills; Google G-Suite of applications
Type 25-40 wpm
Good organizational skills
